My work anchors me to reality, a lens  of visual translation that enables me to attempt to understand human thought and behaviour at a deeper level. The unreality of day to day existence is relentless, a maze of whirring dualities and circus mirrors, through paint I tune in to the collective consciousness and become a translator for the seldom spoken and seldom seen. The paintings reflect on divinity, God, the existential agony of life, its beauty, and the coping mechanisms we build to survive it. To escape in to creative expression and channel the unconscious in to a tangible 3D space is an alchemical process and is profoundly healing. I find I need to work quickly and preserve my thoughts before I know of their presence. They are alive and as fleeting as we are. Often within  bursts of energy I am consumed by my process and will use whatever is at hand to create. Inevitably, "order from chaos" winds its serpentine rhythm through all living things. Each creative act is an offering of the soul and so part of the self must die along with it, as all life is born from death in sacrifice of a new form. It is only in later reflection and observation of my pieces that I am able to ascertain the meanings, messages and warnings that my work may hold.
